The FLOATING domes are made of expanded polystyrene (EPS)
The Flortante dome is an architectural structure designed to be strong, durable, and cost-effective. It is made from polystyrene, a lightweight and durable thermoplastic material that is easy to handle and install.
The dome is often used as a temporary or permanent home for a wide variety of applications, such as amusement parks, fairs, conference centers, training centers, recreation areas, storage areas, animal shelters, car shelters, etc.
In recent years, expanded polystyrene domes have revolutionized housing, particularly single-family homes. They are a very economical and high-quality option.
The innovative material of the FLOATING DOME is developed and manufactured by our company in China and has CE certification (European Certification: one of the most difficult in the world) according to EN 13163:2012+A2:2016 .
The advantages of polystyrene domes are:
- Flexibility: Color and finish can be customized, making them adaptable to a wide range of applications and surfaces.
- Economical : They are more economical than steel or block structures because they are lighter and therefore very easy to install. No masonry is required. Furthermore, due to their round structure, electricity consumption for heating or air conditioning is low (compared to rectangular structures) since the heat circulates evenly throughout the dome.
- Excellent value for money: EPS is an economical material and at the same time an excellent insulator.
- 100% recyclable
- Lightness: A 28 m² dome weighs only 330 kg. So the assembly parts (see photo) are lightweight.
- Durability: It is resistant to all types of weather and climate, making it strong and durable to perform in harsh weather conditions.
- Thermal insulation: It offers excellent thermal insulation capacity to maintain the interior temperature. Its design eliminates thermal bridges. In tropical climates, it is recommended to have air conditioning installed during the summer.
All of our "floating" domes are made of EPS with graphene additives, which gives them their gray color.
Thanks to the graphene encapsulated in the expanded polystyrene cells, the panels absorb and reflect infrared rays, blocking heat radiation, which increases thermal resistance and significantly improves insulation.
